Kitchen Cupboards l Sink with Cupboard Combos

Fridge, Stove, Kitchen Cupboards – Everything and the Kitchen Sink

As the social hub and heart of the home, having an ideal kitchen layout to cater to all and having enough storage space to keep non-essential gadgets and goodies out of sight is why you should consider adding extra kitchen cupboards through modular kitchen unit installations. The versatile layout options of these unique units through GEZA (which include kitchen cupboards) maximise available space, creating a kitchen or extra work area that is functional yet pleasing to the eye.

Additional Functional Space Where You Need It the Most

Consider how much extra packing and washing-up space you could add to your kitchen if you have our sink and cupboard combination units included in your laundry layout. You can’t go wrong by having sink and kitchen cupboard combination units installed alongside outdoor entertainment areas or in a garden cottage. Our modular units include kitchen cupboards and are a perfect fit when floor space is limited.

The Maxi Units Combine All You Need, Including Kitchen Cupboards

Our kitchen units have been designed while taking into consideration the need for work and washing-up space as well as packing space. That’s why we have provided shelves below the sink area. Using melamine for our kitchen units provides you with cupboards that are durable and resistant to excessive moisture, heat, and stains.

Available in white melamine, the Maxi Unit is a perfect choice for a kitted-out kitchen in a small space with a two-plate stove, fridge which fits comfortably underneath the work top, microwave oven, and sink with worktop space. If you prefer, you can opt for the Maxi Gas Hob and Sink Unit with a formica worktop, which provides you with ample storage space.

The best part about our kitchen units is that you get to decide which layout option is best for you as the sink can be placed on either side of the unit.

Mini Units Are Mighty Useful

Our Mini Units fit into any small space and can be excellent additional cleaning up, storage, and cooking facilities for outdoor entertainment areas. The stainless-steel top includes a single bowl sink with a goose neck spout fixed to the sink top, draining board, and an electric plug-in, two-plate stove. A small fridge and freezer combo fits snugly underneath and next to the cupboard space. Our Mini Units can be changed to suit individual needs by excluding some of the necessary accessories to include more cupboard space. With us, the options are endless.

The Benefits of Our Modular-Designed Kitchens

In this fast-paced world, it makes sense to design combination kitchen units for easy installation and instant use, an area in which we at GEZA excel and surpass all. There are many benefits to having our modular kitchens, which will have you thinking twice before going ahead with custom kitchen cabinetry.

1. Variety of Options

Our kitchen units will fit into almost any available space and with the combination of design and layout options, they can be customised for your specific requirements.

2. Sticking to Budget

With kitchen builds or renovations, the chances that the budget will be exceeded are great. Our units are so cost-effective that you will find that there will be enough money left over in your budget to add additional units.

3. No Construction Time or Waste

One of the biggest drawbacks of any renovation is the time it takes to get new kitchen units made and installed. Manufacturing a modular kitchen is quicker as it requires less material. And as our units are already made to your specifications, no construction needs to be carried out.

4. Saving on Space and Adding Storage

Finding ways to maximise space in a kitchen can be a nightmare. Our kitchen units are perfectly designed to fit into your existing kitchen space or to be considered as the main units in a renovated or new kitchen build – taking up less to no space and providing enough storage.

Kitchen Renovations on a Budget

How Prefabs can Enable Kitchen Renovations on a Budget

Kitchen renovations are required from time to time as a household’s needs change. If there is one room in a home that can be accurately described as its heart, it is the one in which we cook and, in many cases, eat most of our meals. It is where children often like to congregate and watch their parents at work, often lured by the enticing aroma of cookies baking in the oven or a pot of hearty meat and vegetable stew simmering on the hob. However, it is also a specialised workshop, a room equipped with all the necessary appliances and storage space for crockery, cutlery, pots and pans.

GEZA Mini Kitchens Unit - Kitchen Renovations for Small Spaces

The Ideal Solution for Budget and Space Restrictions

While the heart of some homes may be larger than others, space can often be a concern. Today, housing prices prevent many young people from purchasing or even renting their own homes. Many are forced to continue living with their parents and share the cooking facilities even after they are married and have children of their own. Extending a room can be an expensive project. Furthermore, it can involve a long period of disruption and dining on takeaway burgers and fries. However, when kitchen renovations are essential but the available space and budget are limited, prefabricated units could be the perfect solution.

Most appliances are sold as free-standing units, which can be somewhat restrictive when you need to equip a comparatively small cooking and dining area from scratch. A combined refrigerator and freezer might be helpful as it offers a smaller footprint than two separate units. It is surprising, therefore, that most manufacturers haven’t developed other similar space-saving solutions for other appliances when furnishing a small space or conducting kitchen renovations. As a  long-established innovator, South Africa’s GEZA Home was the first to recognise this previously neglected but valid requirement, especially in light of the trend by developers to build cheaper and correspondingly smaller homes.

GEZA Maxi Kitchen Unit - Kitchen Renovations

GEZA’s Innovative Combined Prefabricated Units

When supplied individually, a stove, sink, and fridge could have a collective footprint of around two metres or more. By contrast, GEZA has developed two products that combine all three essential appliances into a single white melamine unit with a width of just one to 1,5 metres. The smaller mini unit is ideal for inexpensive kitchen renovations when space is at a premium. The sink features a swivel mixer tap with a goose-neck spout and may be positioned on the right or left of the unit as desired. Beneath the sink, a roomy melamine cupboard with a hinged door has one fixed and one adjustable shelf to provide necessary storage space. The dual-ring electric hob sits next to the sink and above a 120-litre fridge with a freezer compartment. In the maxi version, a useful draining board is positioned centrally, above the refrigerator, with a storage cupboard on either side.

When undertaking kitchen renovations, one often needs to be a little more flexible, adjusting the choice of furnishings according to the shape of the room and the available floor space. With such considerations foremost in mind, GEZA has developed some alternative prefabricated combinations. Between them, there is sure to be a unit that will meet the needs of most homeowners whose choices are limited by a lack of space, an irregularly shaped room or the exorbitantly high prices of most other branded goods.

When planning a kitchen renovation, a microwave often ranks high on a busy family’s list of needs. However, some dishes are still best prepared on a hob. For them, GEZA offers an alternative version of its 1,5-metre wide maxi unit. The draining board, the fridge beneath the sink and the double electric hob remain unchanged, but part of the cupboard space beneath the latter houses a 20- or 23-litre microwave oven. Optionally, this unit can also be supplied without the refrigerator.

Going Off the Grid in Your Kitchen

South Africans have lost patience with load shedding. When planning kitchen renovations, many are changing to gas. To assist them, GEZA has assembled another variant of the maxi unit in which the electric hob is replaced by a two-plate gas hob next to the sink and draining board. The standard model has three cupboards, but the central one can be replaced with a fridge on request.

While prioritising affordability and functionality, visual appeal and durability remain cornerstones of our design policy. We invite you to discover more about world-class GEZA products, including our range of innovative, compact, affordable prefabricated units designed to simplify your kitchen renovations.

Waterproof Showers | Are all Showers Waterproof?

What Are Waterproof Showers?

It sounds ridiculous. Aren’t all showers supposed to be waterproof? And is the very nature of a shower not to spray water all over your body? Yes, to both questions. Waterproof showers are basically cubicles that are prefabricated to ensure optimal leakage prevention. Let’s take a closer look at what makes the prefabricated showers from GEZA waterproof.

Single Tray

An ABS/fibreglass tray is made of a single piece without seams. This prevents leaks. The drainage component is fitted into the tray that doesn’t have sharp corners where water can collect, causing mould growth or flooding of the tray. With conventional mosaic or other tiled shower units, you have grout between the tiles. These form perfect bacterial growth spaces and often leak. You need additional sealants to prevent leakage. In addition, it’s difficult to not have corners where microorganisms can grow and water can collect.

Framed Door

The glass door is fixed into an aluminium frame, which is fixed into the shower tray. Waterproof showers of this kind have excellent seals for optimal closure. The frame fits tightly around the glass panels, creating an enclosed environment to protect against spills onto the outlying floor area.

Waterproof Shower Cubicle

Waterproof Showers Provide a Protected Area

Nothing can be more frustrating than having to deal with a shower curtain that clings to your body because of a draft in the bathroom. With an enclosed cubicle that has high enough sides, you still get fresh air from the top and a place for the steam to escape. But you don’t have to deal with a clinging curtain or a cold breeze from causing discomfort when showering.

Example of Elegance and Space Saving Solutions

The GEZA shower solutions are all waterproof. These units are designed to prevent leakage, mould build-up, and the discomfort of cold air blowing on you while showering. With the lightweight aluminium frames, these are easy to install. The aluminium is also rust resistant, ensuring a hygienic and durable shower environment.

An example being the elegant, spacious corner shower glass cubicle. It comes with a round front glass section in an aluminium frame, fixed onto the white ABS/fibreglass tray that’s reinforced with a steel frame and legs. The back panels also fit into the aluminium frame. The elegant unit comes with a modern mixer, rose, and arm. It also has a neat shelf for shower accessories.

Have a look at our pricelist for more information on our range of waterproof showers.

Small Bathrooms | Affordable and Stylish Small Bathrooms

Affordable and Stylish Shower Solutions for Small Bathrooms

Small bathrooms need not be cramped. The secret lies in choosing the right fixtures. At GEZA, we make it easier to get all the fixtures fitted and ensure you still have ample movement space. Let’s take a closer look at the shower solutions for small bathrooms, but first, let’s consider two advantages of shower units.

  1. Save on Water

Using a tub means you need to fill it to a height that can cover the lower part of your body. If the tub has a large surface area, you’ll need more water. If you want to wash your hair in the tub, you need to either wash and rinse, and then fill a fresh bath to get rid of the conditioner and soap left in the hair, or you have to fill the tub full enough to get all the shampoo and conditioner out of your hair. If saving water is a priority, then showers work better.

  1. Take up Less Space

Small bathrooms already don’t have a whole lot of floorspace. Sometimes, the rooms are so small that a bathtub can’t fit together with a toilet and basin. Fortunately, with shower cubicles, you can take away the tub and just install a smaller footprint shower solution. It is the ultimate choice in space-saving solutions.

shower units for small bathrooms

Why Prefab Shower Solutions for Small Bathrooms?

Custom designed and built showers cost more than prefabricated units. You need to tile the walls, as well as add grout and sealant. In addition, you need to make sure the tray area doesn’t leak, add complex plumbing, then fit the taps and shower head to the wall, and finally add the door section. This process takes a long time and is complicated. It is also costly, and you often have to deal with issues like mould forming on the grout areas. The tiles often loosen, and if the workmanship is not perfect, you have problems with the shower.

The prefab shower solutions are modern, easy to assemble and install, as well as economically priced. You can get spare components from our retail store in Johannesburg, while we have 24/7 maintenance support crews available. You also have the advantage of everything fitting together 100%, minimising the risk of leakage or poor workmanship. The units are designed to minimise floor space usage while giving you ample shower space. The designs make it easy to fit these units in small bathrooms. In addition, the options available are stylish to fit in most modern home designs.

You also save on the cost of installation as these can be installed faster than conventional showers. With such, your labour cost is lower while you can have a shower fitted in no time at all.

Examples of Shower Solutions

Want a shower cubicle that fits perfectly in the corner and provides you with maximum glass surface for a stylish finish? Then you’ll love the 1 m x 1 m square glass shower cubicle. It has a heigh of 1,95 m, ensuring a perfectly protected area to prevent a wind breeze from making you cold while showering. It has a white ABS/fibreglass shower tray that’s reinforced with a steel frame and legs. With the tray in one piece, you don’t have the risk of leakage. It comes with glass shower side, as well as back panels in an aluminium frame, which is tray fixed. It also features a corner door, making it ideal for fitting into small bathrooms. The unit comes with a stylish mixer, fixed shower rose, an arm, as well a convenient glass shelf for your toiletries. We offer a step-by-step, downloadable installation manual.

Need to install a cubicle in a rectangular bathroom? Then consider the GEZA rectangular glass shower solution. Measuring 1,2 m x 0,8 m with a height of 1,95 m, it is spacious. The unit comes with a stylish white ABS/fibreglass tray that’s reinforced with a steel frame and legs. It has a sliding glass door with glass in front and a shower back panel set in an aluminium frame, fixed onto the tray. It also comes with a glass shelf for toiletries, together with the mixer, fixed rose, and arm set.

If you want units that can fit in exceptionally small bathrooms, then you’ll be delighted to know that we also offer smaller shower cubicle solutions. Visit the pricelist section to see just how affordable our solutions are and choose from our many units to fit your space needs.

Kitchen Sinks | Installing High-Quality Prefab Kitchen Sinks

Why Installing High-Quality Prefab Kitchen Sinks Is the Best Idea

Installation of high-quality prefab kitchen sinks holds several advantages for developers and homeowner builders alike. With the superb range of GEZA modular units, you have several options to fit your space, usage, and budget requirements. But before we introduce these, let’s look at the advantages of installing prefab kitchen units.

Time Savings on Kitchen Sinks

The units are prefabricated according to specific dimensions, finishes, and standards. All the components come with the kits. Installation is fast because of these since you don’t have to work with custom cutting, fitting, and then changes. The finishes are already done, holes drilled, and taps fit perfectly. You get the waste and trap included, and these also fit perfectly. With these components ready for installation, you save tremendous time. Instead of weeks to have the kitchen sink unit installed, it can be done within a day.

Cost Savings on Kitchen Sinks

Time savings also mean you save on labour costs. The faster and more efficient the work is done, the lower your labour cost. If you’re a developer, this can mean huge cost savings if you have several units to fit. These units are competitively priced, ensuring affordability without compromising on quality.

Prefabricated According to Strict Quality Standards

Because we’ve done the designs and have standardised sizes, you have quality assurances. You know what to expect since only high-quality materials are used. Consistency in quality also makes it easier to install since you don’t end up with ill-fitting pieces.

Several finishes are available to fit your application needs.

Our designs challenge the conventional method of kitchen installations. With these all-inclusive DIY assemble kits with easy-to-follow instructions, we help you save on the professional installation costs. Kitchen Renovations – Guideline to Kitchen Renovations

Kitchen Renovations: 6 Questions to Ask Before You Remodel

Kitchen renovations can be an expensive endeavour. Hence, making sure you do it right from the start is important. Because you most likely remodel to improve the aesthetics, functionality, and convenience of the space, it’s best to prepare before starting the project. Below are six questions to answer before you start with kitchen renovations.

Geza - Kitchen Renovations

Ask These Questions Before Embarking on Your Kitchen Renovation:

  1. How Much Do You Have Available?

Knowing what you have to spend on the remodelling project will help make sure you don’t overspend on one item, just to be left without funds to complete the project. Add at least 10% to your budget for the unforeseen expenses.

  1. How Long do You Plan to Stay in the Home?

If you’ll stay in the house for at least five years, then you can splash a bit. But for a short-term stay, rather focus on items that will make the time pleasant while also adding value. You might just want to add a cupboard, paint the walls, and fix where needed if you’re only going to be stay in the home for two or three years.

  1. Why Do You Want to Remodel?

Knowing the purpose of the remodelling helps you to focus on important items during the kitchen renovations. If the set-up is too snug for comfort at present, consider buying an all-in-one stove, fridge, sink, and cupboard unit to clear up space without losing functionality.

  1. Do You Have Kids at Home?

If so, you need to consider packing space, ease of access to items they’ll use, where to store products out of reach for safety, and the type of finish to ensure easy cleaning.

  1. Are Any of Your Household Members Prone to Allergies?

If so, stay away from finishes and paints that contain phenol formaldehyde and high-gloss paints and lacquers.

  1. Will You Still Stay in the House During the Kitchen Renovations?

If so, keep in mind that the project might take longer because more items must be protected and there must an alternative area to use for cooking, food storage, and cleaning during the time. Using the GEZA products, you can speed up the remodelling due to the modular design and easy-to-assemble units.

Once you have answers to the above questions, plan the kitchen renovations accordingly. Start by looking at the GEZA catalogue and price lists to help you decide which products will work best for your home.

How to Choose the Perfect Boere Kitchen Sink

How to Choose the Perfect Farmhouse Kitchen Sink

If you love country living, then you’ll want a kitchen sink that fits your home’s rustic style and space needs. Perhaps you have just bought a smallholding with a small home that needs tender loving care. The fittings are dated and worn. So, you want to upgrade the interior, but don’t want to spend a fortune doing so.

At this moment you have to decide on the perfect type to match your needs. So, how do you choose the perfect boere kombuis sink? Read on to learn more about the types and important factors to consider.

Round Corners or Defined Edges?

The rounded kitchen sink offers the benefit of not having an edge in the interior that can be difficult to clean. It also looks rather attractive. If you’re looking for an ultra-modern style, then this is not the right choice. If hygiene, ease of cleaning and a typical farmhouse look is higher on your priority list, then go with the rounded rather than well-defined angular corner type.

Stainless Steel, Granite or Porcelain?

A porcelain kitchen sink is exceptionally attractive, doesn’t rust, and is easy to clean. It is heavier than the stainless steel type and can crack if you drop a heavy or sharp object in it. The crack can be unsightly and difficult to repair. This type also tends to be more expensive.

A granite basin is aesthetically appealing, easy to clean, and strong. However, it is heavy and very expensive. The granite composite type includes a mix of polymers. This adds to the scratch resistance. Granite also doesn’t show water marks, which can be an issue with porcelain that can also stain. The lighter granite composite types can stain, too.

Stainless steel can scratch, but it is fairly easy to buff out such a scratch. These types are lighter in weight as well. In addition, they are rust-resistant and can take a heavy beating. When it comes to farm living, you want durability and these do the trick. Keep in mind that if the water is hard, then you have to clean the sink more often to prevent water stains from forming. For these, a proper wipe down after usage helps to keep them good-looking for years to come. Stainless steel is also exceptionally hygienic.

Double- or Single-Bowl Basin Kitchen Sink?GEZA Mini Kitchen Sink Unit New

A double-bowl unit offers the advantage of having two wash spaces. This means you can wash dishes and rinse them directly after before putting them on the draining board. It saves time and offers more convenience. A double bowl can also be used for rinsing vegetables or washing your cloths in one while still being able to use the other one for washing dishes or simply getting water from the tap. The ones with a gooseneck swivel spout make it possible to service both basins without requiring an additional tap head.

Double-bowl basin units take up more space and if you have a small wash and work area, then you might want to consider the single stainless steel kitchen sink with a stainless steel draining board. This gives you more dry space or an area where you can cut vegetables or prepare food while the basin is still available for washing or rinsing tasks.

The single-basin unit often comes with all-in-one units that include a stove, microwave, fridge, and basin. The single basin is larger than each of the double bowls, enabling you to fit larger pots or dishes in the basin.

Kitchen Sink with Draining Board and Cabinet or a Complete Unit?

Complete Kitchen Sink Units - Geza Home

Three factors that every developer or contractor must keep in mind for building new apartments, townhouses or affordable homes in estates are cost, labour, and time. Complete kitchen sink units for building these enable developers to save time with installation, material costs, and the cost of labour.

The above is true, whether for building brick-and-mortar, log cabin, Nutec or Wendy houses. Plot-and-plan offerings are only marketable if these save the buyers on costs. With the complete kitchen sink units available from GEZA, it is possible for developers to offer quality homes for less because they pay less on kitchen fittings without having to compromise on quality.

Also, with no wet trades needed for installation and the bowls already fitted with waste traps and taps, the time it takes to fit these is considerably less than with custom-built and fitted cupboards, stoves, and bowls for smaller homes. Add to that the modular design, and you have more flexibility in the kitchen layout and design, enabling you to meet the requirements of buyers of plot-and-plan properties.

It also includes a quality two-plate gas stove hob, making it a superb option for off-grid living and homes in the Western Cape where gas stoves are exceptionally popular. The bowl can be placed on the left or right side of the stove, giving you more options for home design.

The combination includes a neat cupboard underneath, fitted with hinged doors and two shelves, of which the bottom one is fixed, and the second one’s height can be adjusted. You also have the option to include a bar fridge with a freezer compartment. View the maxi unit here.

Stove, Sink & Fridge Mini Combination

We also offer combination solutions for smaller spaces. An example is the compact mini combination that consists of a single bowl and draining board with a bar fridge and stove. The bowl is fitted with a single goose-neck spout mixer, which helps with space-saving. As with the other units, the bowl can be fitted on the left or ride side.

The stainless steel top and draining board offer a rust-resistant workspace. The combination features a two-plate electric plug-in stove and a 12L Defy bar fridge. Instead of a two-door cupboard, it comes with a single-door cupboard. View the compact, but practical, mini combination here. Its compact size makes it great for bachelor and student apartments.

4 Advantages of Shower Cubicles

4 Advantages of Shower Cubicles Over Bathtubs for Small Spaces

Should you install shower cubicles or tubs? Read on to discover why the first option is better for small bathrooms. Although both offer spaces to cleanse and relax, when it comes to small bathrooms, space-saving options always work better.

  1. Use less spaceRectangular Glass Shower Cubicle Black

Let’s start with the biggest advantage. Floor space in a small bathroom is limited. Few tiny tubs are comfortable enough to provide a functional and relaxing wash space. A tub has the one advantage of offering space to recline for a relaxing cleansing experience, but only if it is large enough. And here’s the issue: for it to be large enough, you need more floor space. If the bathroom is already snug, it can be difficult to fit a larger tub. With shower cubicles designed for standing up, you can enjoy a spacious enclosure for optimal comfort, which still takes up less space than a tub.

  1. Easy to maintain

Although both options are easy to maintain, shower cubicles win in terms of cleaning. After every bathing experience, a tub normally needs to be cleaned. You also have to wash out residue immediately after bathing. With a shower, you can cleanse and finish up without having to rinse the space, wipe it clean or remove grime. Cleaning can be done once to twice weekly, and it entails the application of a light detergent and letting the spray of water rinse away build-up. Simply wipe down and you have a sparkling clean wash space.

  1. Warmer bathing area

Unless enclosed, tubs are exposed to cold air. This means the water cools down quickly and you have to use more warm water to retain the cosy and relaxing environment. This is not the case with shower cubicles. The heat stays inside the enclosure, and you’re protected from cold air, making for a pleasant cleansing experience, whether it is winter or summer.

  1. Less water usage and lower cost of ownership

Tubs can be expensive and require wet trades for proper installation. The all-in-one units from GEZA are easy to install, don’t take up a lot of space, and are durable because of the materials used in manufacturing the enclosures.
