Installation Advice for GEZA Shower Units

GEZA has recently introduced a practical labour saving concept, the GEZA shower units. One can update the look of their home by installing a contemporary shower, and in addition, such a home improvement will increase the resale value of a home. Installing such a unit yourself will save money, but you still need to have some level of expertise.

The first step it to determine the type of enclosure that will suit your bathroom, as there are several types available on the market. Once you have chosen a design, it will be up to you to make sure the new enclosure is correctly waterproofed after the installation. To help you out the latest modern enclosure trays come with a tile lip trim which is connected into the edge of the wall and the enclosure tray.

Water Leakage is Your Biggest Problem

In order to prevent the water from leaking behind the shower and between the tiles, make sure the tray has a lip. The area needs to be properly waterproofed, as leakage can cause severe problems as well as lead to bad odours and mold. When installing a new shower unit, you need to mark and trim the plastic lip in order to make place for the wall jam, before the unit is mounted to the wall.

To waterproof the tray correctly, apply sufficient silicone to the cut out section. Inside the edge of the tray mark a ten millimetre space that allows space for the silicone which should be applied before the doors are placed. Make sure that the new enclosure wall is level before making your drill holes. The drill holes are where the unit will be mounted and will support the doors of the enclosure.

The next step is to make sure that the door is correctly lined up with the enclosure tray. They way to do is correctly is to slide the enclosure door on the fixed wall, with the door being parallel to the plastic tray and simply repeat the same process for the opposite side. Once the door is correctly lined up, join the doors and follow the finishing details.

Double Checking the Seals

Once the doors are held correctly between the wall profiles, proceed to join the bottom and top corner blocks and screwed together. The final step of installing GEZA shower units is to apply a high quality silicone sealant, sealing the enclosures doors. Once you have applied the silicone sealant, allow to set for around twenty four hours before showering.

Installing a shower unit has never been easier as these units come with full instructions as do not require any tiling, cementing or plastering. These types of bathroom enclosures are ideal for large and small bathrooms, cottages, apartments and townhouses. The GEZA range is stylish, innovative and affordable, and comes in different sizes, shapes and styles. Once you have it all in place and you have let the seals set properly, you are free to enjoy your new shower and experience a refreshing way to keep clean.
